Laptop Camera Issues

If your laptop's camera is having an issue please try these items to fix before submitting a ticket to support.


  • Try toggling with the F8 key
  • Test with the 'Camera' app. Type 'Camera' in the 'Type here to search' field lower left, then open the Camera app and test.
  • What model laptop have you? HP Probook or Lenovo Thinkbook/Pad?
  • If you type 'Settings' in the 'Type here to search' field lower left, open, then select 'Privacy', then 'Camera', make sure all the slide switches are On (blue)
  • Depending upon what you have, a full shut down and restart. Laptop press power button for a good 5-10 seconds, wait a minute then power back up. If Surface Pro, press and hold down power button for 20 seconds, releasing when you see the Microsoft logo appear in center screen.
